The programme is research oriented and offers comprehensive training and supervision to students who aim to be a researcher in the discipline. Students will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to complete their research and thesis in one of the fields of specialization in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and neck Surgery (Ear, Nose and throat), Speech Therapy, Audiology or related sciences.
MPhil Stream
MPhil students are required to complete 4 compulsory courses and at least 2 elective courses with a total of 12 units lecture courses. Students must also take course in thesis research every term throughout their studies. In addition to the courses requirements, each MPhil student is also required to submit a thesis based on his/her research and pass the oral examination for graduation.
PhD Stream
PhD students are required to complete 4 compulsory courses and at least 2 elective courses with a total of 12 units lecture courses during the pre-candidacy stage. Students must also take course in thesis research every term throughout their studies. Each PhD student is required to submit a thesis proposal and pass the candidacy examination within the maximum period of pre-candidacy stage for the advancement to post-candidacy stage.
PhD Students (post-candidacy) must submit a doctoral thesis on original research work and pass an oral examination for graduation.
