Programme Information

The Doctoral programme is research oriented (approximately 75% of units required). The remaining units required are allocated to guided studies. The Faculty of Medicine runs an annual course in Experimental Design and Data Analysis, focusing on evidence- and laboratory-based research.

Tuition Fee
The tuition fee will be HK$47,000 for 2026/27 and HK$49,500 for 2027/28, regardless of the study mode.
Admission Requirements

In addition to the general requirements of the Graduate School, applicants should have a Master's degree in a field related to life sciences or the degree of MBChB or equivalent.

(for PhD programmes only)
  1. To submit an initial application to RGC: By 12 noon, 1 December 2025 (Hong Kong time); and
  2. To submit a full application to CUHK: By 11:59 pm, 1 December 2025 (Hong Kong time).
