Programme Information

The programme is research-oriented and has the aim of advancing pharmacy knowledge with the major requirement being the conduct and defence of a doctoral thesis. Student will also be required to attend and participate in research seminars and other activities organized by the School of Pharmacy. A total of at least 38 units with a written thesis and oral defence are required for graduation.

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee will be HK$47,000 for 2026/27 and HK$49,500 for 2027/28, regardless of the study mode.

Admission Requirements

In addition to the general requirements of the Graduate School, applicants should have a Master's degree in Pharmacy or related discipline (e.g. Biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmacology, pharmacogenomics, pharmacoepidemiology, etc.). Postgraduate students with a taught master degree are encouraged to apply via MPhil Programme initially.

  1. To submit an initial application to RGC: By 12 noon, 1 December 2025 (Hong Kong time); and
