Please refer to the general requirements of the Graduate School.

The English Language Proficiency Requirement is as follows:

1. possess a pass grade in English in one of the following examinations: Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (AS Level), Hong Kong Higher Level Examination, CUHK Matriculation Examination, General Certificate of Education A-Level/AS-Level; or

2. achieve Level 4 or above in the English subject of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE)  examination; or

3. have a degree from a university in Hong Kong or have taken a degree programme of which the medium of instruction was English; or

4. submit a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), or 79 (internet-based/Home Edition); or a minimum IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5.

Understanding of Cantonese is preferred.  Applicants should also submit an English personal statement of 500 words, detailing your media diet and your strategies on how to get accurate and quality information.
