MPhil Stream

The MPhil stream usually requires two years of full-time study.
 

PhD Stream

The PhD stream usually requires at least four years of full-time study. Students with Research Masters degrees are usually expected to graduate within 3 years.
 

Computational Social Science (CSS) Concentration

Applicants who would like to study in the Computational Social Science (CSS) Concentration under the PhD Stream should apply before commencing their studies at CUHK. For details, please visit the CSS PhD Fellowship Scheme@CUHK homepage for more information.

Tuition Fee
The tuition fee will be HK$47,000 for 2026/27 and HK$49,500 for 2027/28, regardless of the study mode.
Admission Requirements

MPhil in Architecture

In addition to the general requirements of the Graduate School, applicants should have a Bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) in a related field and should submit the information as specified in the list of application materials on the School's website.
 

PhD in Architecture

In addition to the general requirements of the Graduate School, applicants should have a first- or second-class Bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) in a related field. Those with a Master's degree (or its equivalent) in a related field may apply, after acceptance, to be exempted from some requirements. All applicants should submit the information as specified in the list of application materials on the School's website.

Application Deadline

Main Round: 1 December 2025
Clearing Round: 31 March 2026
(Applications in Clearing Round will only be considered subject to availability of places.)

HKPFS Application Deadline
(for PhD programmes only)
  1. To submit an initial application to RGC: By 12 noon, 1 December 2025 (Hong Kong time); and
  2. To submit a full application to CUHK: By 11:59 pm, 1 December 2025 (Hong Kong time).
